GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., August 13, 2014 –The education department at Stiles Machinery invites IWF guests to start each morning at their booth with learning through the 2014 START program. At 9AM Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, presenters will share their knowledge of operation, application and finances with a small group of students. The 30 minute presentations will allow for personalized demonstrations, one-on-one conversations and detailed questions and answers. The schedule is as follows:

Understanding the (Ever) Changing World of Finance and Taxes

This engaging and dynamic speaker offers fundamental yet vital information centered around financing options such as leasing, cash purchase and extended financing with an emphasis on leasing. Tim shares information on tax incentives, depreciation, write-offs and tax shelters as well as sections of the IRS tax code applicable to manufacturers that your accountant may not know about such as Section 199 and the Research and Development credit. Join us for an engaging and instructive discussion on advanced sanding techniques for a variety of applications. Tim Middleton covers sophisticated application topics with an easy to understand approach including advantages of sanding with a cross belt, tips and tricks of using a Chevron belt, as well as the proper use of abrasives. The demonstration will also educate visitors on how to successfully sand solid wood or veneer-covered doors including discussions on sealer sanding defects, scratch patterns and proper use of brushes.
